This program is almost magic when it comes to quickly creating\/perfecting materials. Whoever does their image recognition software is a saint(too much?).If you already own the original B2M:Pros: Very similiar to the original Bitmap2Material but can output Roughness, Metallic, and glossiness.Cons: Doesn't seem to improve image recognition (but it's still the best around).. This is what I've been waiting for. I've got a largish library of materials for a game project I'm working on that need to be updated to the new shading model for UE4. I authored a lot of my environmental tiling textures in the original Bitmap2Material and using this new build I'm able to move my texture library to PBR a lot easier than doing it by hand, which is a major feature because I don't have an army of texture artists. Also, with this new version of B2M it's easy to remove lighting\/AO from source textures and make a passably correct PBR textures in a few mouse clicks. As a solo indie developer this is a godsend in a lot of ways. Prototyping should be much faster now.. Cant use it through steam, every time I tried to do anything other than launch it, it wouldnt work. However, allegorithmic allows you to transfer your steam key to your allegorithmic account, if you do that you can download a working client from them. So if its on sale, I'd say go ahead and get it on steam, if not just buy from the allegorithmic site and save yourself the headache,.
